C. Allen Bruce, MD is a native of South Carolina. He was educated at Furman University and Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He received post graduate training in Internal Medicine at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and completed an allergy fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Professional society memberships include the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, the Southeastern Allergy Association, the Southern Medical Association, the South Carolina Society for Allergy and Immunology, and the American College of Physicians. He established the Allergic Disease & Asthma Center, PA in 1976.

Emmanuel U. Sarmiento is a native of Manila, Philippines. He studied medicine at the Far Eastern University of Manila where he graduated Cum Laude-Salutatorian and was a recipient of numerous academic excellence awards. His internship and residency, plus adult/child allergy clinical immunology fellowship were all performed at Rush Medical College, in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sarmiento was voted the most outstanding pediatric resident in 1991 and won the 1992 Alan Feinberg Award for best research, given by the Illinois Society of Allergy and Asthma. Dr. Sarmiento is board certified in Pediatrics, Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology. He is deeply interested in finding new strategies to manage asthma and allergies.

Neil L. Kao is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He was educated at the University of Chicago and the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine in Chicago. He received post graduate training in Internal Medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. His allergy, asthma and immunology fellowship training was at Rush Medical College in Chicago. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, plus Allergy and Immunology. He is a Fellow member in the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, plus the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He has reviewed manuscripts and co-authored numerous articles for many professional journals. His research interests include asthma corticosteroids, clinical research and educational theory. Candace A. Cothran, PA-C: Candace is a native of Greenville, SC. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assisting from the Medical University of South Carolina. Shanna Cowan, PA-C: Shanna is a native of West Virginia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson Broaddus College. Lee Anne Grumelot, PA-C: LeeAnn is a native of McCormick, SC. She received a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assisting from the Medical University of South Carolina. What is a Physician Assistant?
Physician Assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. As a part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PA's conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions. Within the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
